Although the delivered website worked, there were still some weaknesses. The user interface did not meet the requirements of the DDPS and the corporate design did not match the specifications. In addition, the user-friendliness left a lot to be desired. For this reason, we were commissioned to completely revise the front end of the platform in terms of usability and design.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Customer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ZEM, Center for Electronic Media of the DDPS<br \/>\n(Department of Defence, Civil Protection and Sport)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>User experience design (UX design)<\/li>\n<li>User interface design (UI design)<\/li>\n<li>Content Presentation Design<\/li>\n<li>Content Language Adaptation<\/li>\n<li>Frontend Development<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Release<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>August 2021<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adaptation of the look to the federal government&#8217;s corporate design<\/li>\n<li>Uniform, attractive and contemporary design of the interface<\/li>\n<li>Improved user guidance and user-friendliness<\/li>\n<li>Adaptation of the &#8220;responsive&#8221; views on mobile devices<\/li>\n<li>New customized theme for the underlying system based on PHP 7x<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>What for?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The video.zem platform is intended to be a practical and attractive tool for internal and external users when videos and image material on a specific topic are required.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Easy handling by the user<\/li>\n<li>Uncomplicated handling by internal admin staff<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>How?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>After analyzing the existing platform, the three-person team worked on the project in various sprints:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Testing and programming the interfaces to the backend<\/li>\n<li>Design of the user interface<\/li>\n<li>Implementation \/ programming of the home page and the subsequent topic pages<\/li>\n<li>Revision of the text fields in four languages<\/li>\n<li>Simplification of structures and functions<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Result<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Improved user-friendliness, more attractive user interface &#8211; more fun at work![\/vc_column_text][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221; images=&#8221;6813,6814&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; onclick=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The Center for Electronic Media (ZEM) of the DDPS has developed a media platform to meet the increasing demand for photos and videos in internal and external communication.
